3. Read your term paper out loud. If possible ask a friend to read the research paper out loud so you can hear it. It is surprising how many mistakes can be heard through reading the paper out loud such as grammar and punctuation.

4. How is your term paper organized? Would you keep reading this research paper if it belonged to someone else? If not, change it to make it interesting. Take time to look at the thesis statement. Is it a complete sentence? Look at the main points in your term paper and ask yourself if these are described in the thesis statement. If not, take time to rewrite the thesis to incorporate the main ideas in it. Next, look at the attention-grabber or hook that you use in the first paragraph. Is it appropriate? Does it grab the attention of the reader? If it is a statistic, is it valid and reliable?

5. Have you used transitions between the main points? If not, take time to add these transitions. Are all the sentences complete sentences? Have you used support for any bold or statistically related statements made? Never make a such a statement without support.

8. Go through the term paper and correct the punctuation. Correct any punctuation errors such as proper comma usage. Look through the paper checking for any compound sentence commas or introductory commas. Have you left out any words?

9. Rewrite the paper again. Yes, this is a very important step if you are after a good grade. A term paper is not finished until it has been rewritten at least three times if not more.  Complete all the steps and you will be proud of your results and can feel that you have put forth the proper amount of effort to achieve a good result.
